Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the digitization of Islamic education on changes in student behavior and to formulate a reconceptualization of the educator’s role. The research method used is a literature review with a qualitative-descriptive approach through systematic analysis. The data analysis technique employs content analysis to produce objective conclusions. The results show that the digitization of Islamic education has triggered a shift in learning ethics from a spiritual orientation to a pragmatic one, diminished virtual communication etiquette between students and teachers, and increased the risk of digital distractions in the form of inattentive behavior due to weak physical control. To address this decline in moral standards, it is necessary to reconstruct the role of religious educators so that they serve as filters of digital information who hone students’ critical thinking skills and serve as moral role models in the virtual space.
