Peran Media Sosial dalam Pembentukan Opini Publik di Kalangan Generasi Z

Social media has become the primary communication space for Generation Z in accessing information and shaping perspectives on public issues. This study aims to analyze the role of social media in the formation of public opinion among Generation Z. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation of social media activities, and documentation studies of digital content related to public issues. The findings indicate that social media functions as a dominant source of information, a public discourse arena, and a medium for shaping attitudes and perceptions among Generation Z. The process of public opinion formation is influenced by the intensity of information exposure, digital social interactions, social media algorithms, and the role of influencers and content creators. This study concludes that social media plays a significant role in shaping public opinion among Generation Z, highlighting the importance of strengthening media literacy to encourage critical and responsible engagement with digital information.
