Analisis Literatur Mengenai Dampak Stict Parents Terhadap Pola Komunikasi dan Keterbukaan Anak

Abstract

Background: Parenting styles play a crucial role in, shaping a child's personalityand communication patterns. Currently, strict parenting—characterized by rigid rules and constant supervision but a lack of affection—is frequently discussed due to the strain it often places on the parent-child relationship. Objective: This study aims to examine the impact of strict parenting on a child's communication style, openness, and mental health. Methods: This research employs a qualitative method via a literature review, involving the collection, reading, and analysis of information from existing journals and scientific articles. Results: The findings indicate that strict parenting has a dual impact. On the positive side, children may become more disciplined, independent, and polite, and achieve good academic results. However, on the negative side, they often experience stress, low self-confidence, and a sense of being stifled. Consequently, they frequently withdraw, lie, or conceal things from their parents in an attempt to feel free. Conclusion: In conclusion, parents need to strike a balance between being firm and granting their children freedom. The keys to maintaining a harmonious family relationship are mutual understanding through two-way communication, openness, and respect for the child's personal space.
