Abstract

Culture can be understood as a system of shared meanings reflected through practices and values. And material products, including cuisine. British cuisine, as part of material culture, represents not only food but also cultural identity and social traditions. This study aims to analyze how British cuisine is represented as cultural identity through YouTube content. The research employs a qualitative content analysis method, using data from relevant scholarly articles and two selected YouTube videos as primary sources. The findings reveal that British cuisine, such as tea and traditional meals, is portrayed not merely as daily consumption but as a symbol of social interaction, heritage, and national identity. The videos also demonstrate how digital media shapes global perceptions of British culture through visual and experiential representation. This study highlights the importance of cuisine as a cultural marker and shows how YouTube functions as an effective platform for cultural dissemination and understanding in the digital era.
