Dinamika Pengembangan Kurikulum Gereja Dalam Konteks Digital dan Media Sosial

This study is motivated by the reality that social media and digital platforms have become an essential part of the daily lives of church members in Indonesia. However, the use of these media for faith formation in the church has not yet been optimal. In many cases, digital technology is only utilized for technical purposes, such as conducting online worship services, disseminating information, and promoting church activities. Its use has not been seriously directed toward shaping spiritual maturity and Christian character. Meanwhile, the digital world holds great potential as a new space for learning about faith in ways that are relevant to the everyday lives of the congregation.
This research aims to analyze how the church curriculum can develop and respond to the challenges of the digital era and social media while remaining faithful to the values of the Gospel. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach by examining various sources, including government data, reports from APJII, as well as theological books and journals related to the church and digital media.
The results of this study show that digital media can become an effective tool for faith formation if it is properly integrated into the church curriculum. The development of the church curriculum should not focus solely on teaching technology, but must also include the enhancement of spiritual digital literacy, media ethics, and the formation of mature Christian character. This study emphasizes that the digital world should be regarded as a space that is as important as traditional spaces of worship and Christian education.
The implication of this research is that the church needs to create an integrative and relevant curriculum that combines faithfulness to God’s Word with creativity in the use of digital technology. In this way, church members will not only become familiar with technology, but will also have a strong faith, demonstrate wisdom in using digital media, and be able to embody Christian values in both their online and offline lives.
